Fit a clip into a box of its own shape
transform.size gives any clip a box in pixels or percent, fit decides how the picture fills it, and crop.radius rounds it into a circle avatar.
A clip used to be scaled as a fraction of the frame, so a 400 pixel square avatar cut from 16:9 footage was arithmetic, and a round one was not possible at all.
transform.size is a box, in pixels or percent, and fit says how the picture fills it.
"transform": { "size": { "width": 400 }, "fit": "cover", "position": { "x": "20%", "y": "50%" } },"crop": { "radius": 1 }That is a circular avatar. Leave the height out and the box is square in pixels, which is the only way to a true circle on a frame that is not square.
containfits the picture inside the box, coverfills it and crops the overflow, fillstretches it.blurfills the frame’s bars with an enlarged, blurred copy of the picture, which is what vertical footage in a wide frame wants.crop.radiusrounds the corners, and it rides the transform, so a scaled-down clip becomes a rounded picture in picture.- The box takes keyframes, so it can grow or shrink while it plays.
The box and every field around it are in the compose docs.
The box is part of one transform for every clip.
