Live progress and ETA for compose jobs
Watch a compose render move through its steps with a live ETA, logs and CPU and memory charts, in the dashboard and over the job events stream.
A compose job on the new engine now reports where it is while it renders. The job page shows each step as it starts and finishes, a progress bar with an estimate of the time left, the log as it is written and live CPU and memory use. The same job.step, job.progress and job.log events reach the job events stream, so your own UI can show them too.
The estimate starts from the size of the timeline and moves to the measured render rate as frames finish, trusting the measurement fully once a quarter of the render is done.
Two dashboard fixes ship with it. A running job’s steps no longer show as waiting until the job ends, and a job that uses more CPU than it reserved shows the reservation instead of a figure above 100%.
