One shape covers a Ken Burns push, a fade, a colour change and ducking music under a voice. Any numeric field that moves takes a list instead of a value: position, scale, rotate, opacity, volume, a shape’s color and radius, a box’s size, and any numeric effect parameter.
  • time is seconds from the clip’s start, or a percent of its length, so "100%" means the last frame without knowing how long the clip is.
  • easing shapes the move from that keyframe to the next one, so it goes on the first of a pair. The last keyframe’s easing is never used.
  • 33 easings: step, linear, smooth, and the easeIn, easeOut and easeInOut families over Sine, Quad, Cubic, Quart, Quint, Expo, Circ, Back, Elastic and Bounce.
A Ken Burns push-in is the example above. A fade is the same shape on opacity, and ducking music under a voice is the same shape on volume.

before

scale 1 to 1.15, easeInOutSine, over 5 seconds

A still photograph becomes a shot. Nothing else changed between the two.

Where keyframes are accepted

transform.position, transform.scale, transform.rotate, transform.size, clip opacity, clip volume, a shape’s color and radius, and every effect parameter marked animatable in the effect reference.

The 33 easings

step holds the value until the next keyframe. linear moves at a constant rate. smooth eases in and out gently. The remaining 30 are the easeIn, easeOut and easeInOut families over Sine, Quad, Cubic, Quart, Quint, Expo, Circ, Back, Elastic and Bounce. Back, Elastic and Bounce overshoot the value you gave, which is the point of them, so leave room at the edges of the frame when you use one on position.
