Add a transition on the clip it brings in, or as a clip of its own, with every field it accepts listed in full.
| Field | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
transition * | "crossfade" | "fade" | "slide" | "push" | "wipe" | "zoom" | "none" | crossfade dissolves A into B, fade dips through black, slide moves B in over A, push moves B in and A out together, wipe reveals B in place along an edge or a shape, zoom grows B from the center, none is a hard cut. |
direction | "left" | "right" | "up" | "down" | slide, push and an edge wipe: which way the picture travels. Default left. |
shape | "edge" | "circle" | "box" | "barnDoorHorizontal" | "barnDoorVertical" | wipe only. edge (default) sweeps a straight line across in direction, circle opens an iris from the centre, box opens a rectangle from the centre, barnDoorVertical opens a vertical gap from the middle out to the sides, barnDoorHorizontal opens a horizontal gap up and down. |
map | string | wipe only: a wipe of your own, drawn by a greyscale image (png or jpg) at the frame’s shape. Black turns over to the next clip first and white last, so a left-to-right gradient is an edge wipe and a radial one an iris. Takes no shape or direction. |
duration * | number | Overlap in seconds. 0.4-0.8 is the professional range. Leave the next clip’s start out and it is placed this far before the clip before it ends. Two clips placed by hand blend over the overlap they have. over 0. |
type * | "transition" | Marks this track item as a transition. Place it BETWEEN two clips; leave the second clip’s start out and the engine overlaps them by duration. |
